Ok i don't know if i am freaking over nothing or not? Techno has been looking a lot different to me over the past week now? She has been staying a very light lime green color and on her side where she used to have a white stripe it is now very dark brown almost black and also around her head , crest and mouth as well as her spines have become a reddish/orange/ brown color? she also has a few orangey stripes going down her body? Normally she is a dark green and brown so i am just worried? Nothing has changed in her cage or diet in the past month or 2? I am attaching pics, Could she having egg issues? is this a normal change? is she sick? She is eating like a horse as usual so IDK? Please Help ease my mind.....

Sorry my cam sux so these pics are mainly so you can see the color the 4th pic is a resting pic when she isn't riled up and the last pic is what she normally looks like

No, she looks good to me. What is she about 8 months old? She does not appear to have gravid coloration, but one way to be sure is to feel her belly. If you can feel lumps about the size of jelly beans or a little larger than yea she is gravid. But by the pics I would guess not, also many times you can see the bulges. I think you are doing well with her, don't worry. Also if she is gravid you will notice her going to the bottom of the cage a lot walking around and sometimes clawing at the edges.

Thanks for replying:) she is about 4 1/2 months now (I guess i got a little close with the camera lol). As for feeling the belly umm lol she is a bit on the mean side so i can't really handle her lol (she scares the crap out of me) But i guess i just was worried it is such a dramatic change in colors the blackish brown stripe across her body was the most worry some to me but i guess that is normal:) I am trying so hard to keep her doing well i get a little nervous lol the whole egg thing is driving me batty!

Thanks for the advice to i will watch her for any unusual signs:)

Oh 4 1/2 she is just getting more of her coloring. There is a very slight chance of her being gravid. She is just starting to hit sexual maturity if she is gaining her adult coloration. Normally they are sexually mature at 6 months. I wouldn't worry at all in that case. She looks good and will gain her new colors for a few months.

Thanks Guys:) I feel kinda dumb now lol.. But i am still learning haha! She hasn't shed in awhile now but i am excited to see a shed soon. She just amazes me everyday i am fasinated with her haha! Now to concur holding her or actually removing her from the cage that is gonna be a tough one lol.

She actually tries to eat my finger the second i go to open the door she sticks her tounge out a bit and follows it hahaha. If i don't ever post again you will all know my chameleon ate me LMAO!!

Thanks again everyone i really appreciate it:)

There are a lot of ways to get a cham out of its cage.... I found that shewing them out worked best for me. I place a hand low and in front of them near the branches and then have another hand behind kinda nagging them on making the cham walk out onto my hand. Next thing they know, they are outside of the cage.

It would work for Stella but sometimes if I didn't keep my fingers still she would try and bite them. lol sometimes she would be holding onto a finger and look away and then turn back to the same finger, let go of it and hiss and bite it lol:rolleyes::D. If she is young it will not hurt all that much. Sometimes Stella would do a test bite just kind of checking to make sure my finger wouldn't attack her. Only a couple of times did she go full out 'DIE FINGER!" and try to bite it off. She never really hurt me though.

wow you have a one angry chameleon :D
Mine goes berserk twice.
On the towel that i used when i administer him the deworming therapy.
and on my red hibiscus.

As far as taking him out, i learn to let him get out on his own.
I open his cage door. and I attach a spare biovine on to one branch and attach the other end to the window where sunlight goes through.

As soon as my chameleon see this, he usually looked at me as if saying "I'll run as soon as this giant looked away"

He'll start doing his leaf swaying dance and move quick when i looked at the other way.
as soon as he gets out, i slowly put my hand under his legs. and he'll be on top of my palm. Usually, he goes real calm by then.
If I reach into his territory inside the cage, he'll fight me for sure.
I always respected his territory. :)

Thanks:) I have tried the fake out(going behind with my hand in front) but she will dive bomb the cage last time i tried she flew to the bottom and i didn't want her to get hurt:( I am still nervous around her because she does actually bite she doesn't really warn you she hisses as she lunges and bites lol. I am terrified i will fling her across the room ( I jump when she attacks the cricket cup as i am putting them in)LMAO! Not so worried about the pain but i am super jumpy and i just can see me flinging her across the room my cat would just love her as a snack haha! I hope to work up the nerve soon i am getting a new cage for her in the next few months so hopefully it will all go well:) Thanks again i will try your techniques and see if it will work:)

Yes i think that is her problem to she doesn't like anything in her cage i did manage to get her out once it was early on and she climbed out on the door and was very calm on my hand. I hope that she will still be calm now it's been since dec. since i have taken her out lol.

ok i am a total tard lol i started thinking about her age so i went back and rechecked she is 5 1/2 months not 4 1/2 i got her like dec. 15th 2007 and they said she was 2 months old. Doesn't change really any advice but just wanted to clear that up:)
