I think you do, but I've used it a bunch to figure out what bugs I catch outside are. It's very helpful so I know what I can feed off or not (or if I can keep it as a pet/breed them!)
 
I dont think botflies are up this far north. Usually when people have them lay eggs on them it happened in a tropical country and they disnt notice until they came back to the US and the maggots are huge. At least the ones that use humans as a host.

I don't know about using humans as a host, but we have them here in PA. I have seen them on rabbits. DISGUSTING! I did not follow my dream of becoming a vet because I was traumatized by seeing one. :(
 
I checked and you dont have to worry about the human ones in the US! They are really gross though aren't they?
 
I was thinking that they were basically tropical. I haven't seen a horsefly look like this. I'll have to check out that website tomorrow when I'm at the office.
