POOP!

Hello!

My cham's poop looks good! normal size and good healthy color for urate. I have noticed that my cham seems to have a hard time pooping... or maybe that's normal -- she hags her butt over the edge and her cloaca looks like she either is about to poop or just pooped. I will leave the room and come back and she's doing this in a different position, but hasn't pooped. Do chameleons just take a while to poop? Should it be fast and quick? She poops about every other day, also she doesnt' seem stressed or anything. (I mean she's a cham and doesn't really like me, lol, but she really doesn't have any other signs of stress....

. It doesn't just come out like ... well like a human. Keep in mind i've never actually seen her poop... just what looks like her trying to poop...

This is the weirdest question ever. And again, I'm just wondering if chameleons take like... a minute to poop....

Poop is a common topic on this forum. Need some more info to help you. Go to health section and look for "How to ask for help". It will give you a questionaire to fill out. In the mean time...how old is your cham, what type, how often and how much do you feed her, what do you feed her, do you see her drink. That's a start. Welcome to the forum.:)

She is about 7 months, eat crickets and superworms. Just started eating the worms. I feel her 10-12 medium crickets or less crickets and some worms daily. I dust calcium daily and shes gotten 2 dustings of d3 calcium (sticky tongue vitamin blend) since ive had her (little over a month). Ive seen her drink regularly. She shed a couple days ago, poops about every other day and her poop looks like all the normal photos from this site. Her humidity stays between 50-70% thanks to a humidifier and a constant drip source of water.

Yes. I made sure to get her a lay bin as soon as i got her so she would be used too it. Ive seen her in the position mid poop and it was taking time. Not just coming out like any other animal poopong ive seen. Looked not strained, but slow and digestive in itself.
