Possibly friendly veiled

At the pet store that I work at we have to baby veileds. One of them comes right to the side of the tank whenever somebody walks up to it. Is it possible that it might end up being a friendly cham or is there another reason why it would do this?

not for long... mine did the same and now he tries to bite the hand but when i get him onto my arm he seems to calm down. wait till he hits 6 months or so....

There could be various reasons for that.

It more than likely indicates that the conditions he is being kept in at the petstore are not completely suitable. If a chameleon indicates that he wants to get out of his cage, he is probably not happy in it. There might be something he is trying to get to (e.g. water, food, heat, or most likely - space - if there are a lot of other chameleons in the cage with him).

They are neither friendly nor unfriendly. He probably sees people as a route to get out of the cage - he is not trying to make pals.

I was thinking the same thing, but there is only one other baby in there & that one seems fine with the cage. The one I'm talking about can be at the back of the cage until he sees someone, then he comes straight to the front.
