Possibly not all that odd behavior

My MM Chameleo Jacksonii is acting a little different. (Not to say I'm an expert, I raise mainly tarantulas and iguanas.)

So my question to you is: Is it normal for him to be casually walking around is cage, occasionally opening his mouth wide, walking around af ew minutes with his mouth gaping open, then closing it? (lol)

Possibly a dumb question to more experienced persona but I just need some reassurance there is not a health issue.

Disregard this if anyone says otherwise, I'm no expert. I believe when they hold their mouth open like this, it may mean they're overheating. (I'm basing this on what I know about other lizards and of course this may just be a chameleon behavior) Reptiles don't have a great way of cooling themselves off, and their mouth is the only "vent" they have. How hot is your cage?
