how does everyone gut load? full details, what you use, how you prepare it when do you feed crickets, how much do you feed, do you only feed the ones your going to use, how often do you feed the crickets not being used? please give as many details as you can think of thank you

I feed my feeders good fruits and veggies such as butternut squash, bell pepper, kayle, sweet potato and carrot all the time along with some good dry gut load. The evening before food day I pull all the feeders that I'm going to feed the next day and put them in a special container with allot of dry gut load. I use a dry gut load that my vet makes but we have a member here that sells a good dry gut load called Cricket Crack. I'll get you a link to him. Gut loading is very important. Your cham is having a worthless meal if you are not gut loading.

I always use a different variation, everytime I go grocery shopping I get different veggies, But here's how it breaks down:

I use Cricket Crack as a constant dry gutload and I use a variation of 5 different fresh veggies each week. I'll usually supply enough food to last my feeders for 3 days. I found that to be the standard atleast for me any longer and the food starts to mold. I mince my combination of 5, for example this past week: Collard greens, Dandelion greens, Parsnip, sweet pepper, and squash. Then after its all been tossed together I put enough food to last the feeders 3 days, rinse and repeat the process until my weeks supply of feeder food is gone and I go out and get a different variation on veggies.

The 3 day thing might take awhile to get down, atleast it took me awhile. There is alot of factors that play into it. What type of feeder is it, how big are the feeders, and how many feeders are in the container.

-I Just replace the cricket crack whenever it gets low. Crickets attack the stuff like it's an invading army but always seem to leave a very thin layer remaining. My dubia on the other hand devour it and every time I check on them I add more.

I put my veggies and fruits in a blender and make a mush and store it in the fridge. I usually use 2-3 ingredients and make enough to last for a couple days.

I typically try and change the combo in my wet stuff every time and not repeat ingredients to often. Its almost like a game lol.

With crickets I just feed the whole bin, with roaches I gutload the ones Im going to feed.

I keep dry guload and some kind of water source in the bin for my roach colonies that Im trying to build up.

I use a bunch of different veggies and fruit but I'll list my faves :
Collard greens
Mustard greens
Kale
Sweet potato (lightly steamed)
Carrots
Variety of Winter squash
Red pepper
Papaya
Oranges

Lets just say the local farmers market love me lol

Its fun to see the different way people gutload! I always find a new ingredient or method.

I make a blend that i freeze in flat packs, and just break off pieces to give to the bugs I'm about to sacrifice to my chameleon :)

Here's what's in it:
Mustard Greens, Turnip Greens, Butternut Squash, Papaya, Kale, Collard Greens, Carrots, Apples, Limes, Bee Pollen, Kelp, Calcium Precipitate
