post mortem C - section RESOURCES?

I've read a lot about C - sections and that you can do it successfully with a recently passed cham.

Well, my female veiled passed on about an hour ago from what appears to be symptoms of being egg bound. I cannot find resources on how to do a post-mortem c-section.

If you're going to tell me I shouldn't do it or ramble on about IMO, save it for a day when my 4 year old female didn't just die please.

Thanks for the help.

Irfin, let us know how it works out ( I'm assuming they're fertile and you're going to try to hatch them? ).

I'd opened up a freshly passes chin in attempt to save the babies, but that's a little more difficult process I think? Honestly, after years of having chicken I guess I never thought about the actual process of making an egg and how it is done etc... I would think that once the egg is complete it doesn't need the mother to support it right...

Sorry for your loss as well. 4 yrs is a bond longer than a lot of relationships anymore...

I dissected a small virgin female not too long ago and found some interesting results. I will have to post some photos and a description.

Their skin is incredibly durable. You will need surgical scissors and a surgical quality scalpel. Then it's just simple anatomy. Not a very pleasant experience.
