Power Outage Safety?

Hello,

I'm worried that the electricity will go out in this weekends upcoming storm. I don't have/ cannot afford a back-up generator. Then only substitute heat source I can think of are those self warming hand warmers that you can put into your pocket. But that's not very effective for a chameleon, like it would be for my bearded dragons.

Any tips?

well your cham can go without uvb for a couple of days. not going to kill him. And if your AC goes out your house will be warm. In my experience with hurricanes (living in FLA and having been through three) it will be sunny out after a day or so. Things usually clear up very relatively quickly after it passes so take him outside for sun and warmth as soon as you can if you lose power. I did not have my chameleon then but owned a tortoise who we brought inside and put in a laundry basket while we went through the storm. If you have a generator, you can always hook up your lights to that too. I know most of you probably don't own them, most of us do now cause we always have to be prepared.
