i found place on the internet that was selling them out of season i didnt know they were out of season ,mine took a little while to hacth but when they did it is kinda cool ,they climb all over plants and perch on top of them and they eat whatever bugs are there, they eat alot and they like the work all day eating bugs, they grow really fast too when they got lots a food.
they are cool to watch though i was sitting watching for like a hrs,i didnt realize how fast they were and how far they can jump.if i can remember the site i put it here ,it you do some searching you should be able to find some ooths.

You're going to have the best luck on e-bay ....but not until around March.
There are a lot of sellers in Maryland, Maine and other mid-atlantic states, but they usually don't start collecting ooths till Feb/Mar.

how long do they live? I know most bugs have short lives. i used to catch them when i was a youngin in my backyard they r cool.

Do you ever see any oothecas from the mantises. If yes would you be able to send me some.

I have never looked for them. Right now, it's 10 degrees outside...so it will have to wait till summer....it snowed into June last year...so end of June/july I'll start hunting them.

f*ck i wish i lived where they live wiled, they're about he coolest bug out there.

yeah they are you should see em climbing all over the garden right now they perch on the tops and down along the plants like its their turf.they eat alot it seems, you can see the food in these mantids i god i geuss cause they just hatched they are still clear but there eyes glow.but like i said i can see the bugs they are eating its almost unbeleivable.it looks like black stuff inside them thats the bugs they eat.looks like they scrape the bugs with their hand things then they lick them off it loks like.

if you got a garden n need to at least lower the bug population then these might work,so far they been working great.
moving water has NOT been drowning them either,i was concerned about the water, mist and they jus float n get back up n start eatin again.
my hope is that they keep growing and they stay in the chameleon room.

These are one of the creepiest bugs around. I hate them. We get them all the time here in the summer months.

LOL.........EVERYTHING, creepy mouth, creepy heads, creepy legs. I hate to admit it but when I was a kid I would torture these dam things. Now they just get the foot.:D I am not sure what is worse them or spiders?
