ive been wanting to order some praying mantis egg pods but I'm wondering if it's too late in the season to do so. I'm in Texas, so looking at about a month left of summer temps. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Goodness no! We're still getting up to 90-100, may get down in the high 80's rest of this month. Hopefully in September we'll start getting rain and seeing 90-80's.

My supplier says the hatch rates drop off by August, which is why I don't have them for sale now. You would probably get a hatch, but how many?

CHEERS!

Are you keeping them indoors to hatch or outdoors? I've hatched out plenty during the winter indoors. I just add some heat over them(80 degrees) and had plenty hatch. All the cold does is slow the hatch rate down. Meaning it make take an extra week or two to hatch. It doesn't reduce nymphs hatched in my experience. But with added heat, it helps speed things up. FYI, I recently hatched out about 70ish in Indiana, within 3 weeks. Hope this helps!
