presenting/containing food

Does anyone have links to videos or tips to feed, crickets, worms, roaches and other insect types?

I'll be getting a veiled chameleon coming up and want him to eat the food not have it running all over the chage or escaping.

What kind of containers are you using? I'll be using bushy live plants so won't the cricket just hide out in them?

Thank you,

Stephen R

I do intend to free roam a few, hand feed a few, I read on another thread we should ensure they get a chance to stretch out their tongues. I was thinking for those days when we are busy or have to be away and a friend drops in a few.

Any suggestions for feeder cups up off the ground versus having them on the ground? Any pics for a side what attachment?

I'll be starting another thread about variety, because I see I can do small crickets, roaches and others. Mabye a few free roaming crickets ok, but I'll have to figure a way around with the roaches.

Roaches are best cup fed or hand fed. Don't bother free roaming them. I'd get orange heads, chams like them better than Dubia, most chams hate Dubia and even if they eat them need hand fed or placed on the screen next to the Cham over and over.

Keep the cup high up, about right under where your Cham perches.

Magnetic feeder cups are on my webpage fullthrottlefeeders.com, and also in the Classified section here on the forum, under Chameleon Supplies.

On plants, one small Pathos hung from the top will FILL the cage with foliage and vines (I have no botanical degrees...).

CHEERS!

Awesome, thank you! Do you have a link to a supplier for orange head roaches? Along with tips for care, do they need be refrigerated like worms?

Cool, I'll check that out!

@nick barta is who sold me my orange heads, he had them on fullthrottlefeeders, not sure if he still does. Would have to do some searching around, but they are definitely worth it. Keep them at about 85 degrees, put upright egg flats in a large plastic bin. Cut the top out and replace with screen for ventilation. They're hardy and reproduce fast. I also use nick bartas feeders cups.
