problem with fruit flies!!

we got a ficus tree !! and in the soil there is millions of fruit flies.... is there a way to get rid of them without changing the soil??

They are probley gnats. They breed in places that stay pretty moist, so try letting the plant dry out.

i had the same infestation.... NO SITTING WATER.... have absalutally no sitting water and they will die off.... i use a large plate in the bottom under my ficus.... and keep a towel on top to soak up the water and then just hang dry it every 2-3 days and this wont happen again..

One of your safest bets is to use insecticidal soap. It's really effective on indoor and outdoor plants and won't harm your plants. The brand I use is Earth-tone. It's organic, and after a week you should see a huge difference.
