Ever so slowly I am getting all of the branches put together... the blue tape in the back is the general level of where the basking branch will be! Still have to make the drainage system as well as setting up the mister, fogger, and the timers. I dont think the 100w bulb I have in my heat fixture will provide enough heat raised up like that, so likely I will be cutting off some of the wires in the wire shelving I installed a few days ago so it will be able to rest it ontop of the cage. Feel free to ask questions or drop reccomendations! Happy new years eve.

I would not cut the wires on the shelf... With where you have the tape there is no reason the basking would not be warm enough.

Make sure your distance is right for your fixture type and bulbs to basking as well when it comes to the UVB.

It’s coming along nicely! Gotta love the ease of dragon strand ledges! Happy New Years to you and yours! Test the temp at basking for the 100w light and depending on your chameleon and it’s age it might be ok. ☺️

Of course. Right now I have a dual sunblaze whatever the heck light fixture with two 6500k bulbs in it, as well as one single reflector fixture with a 6% arcadia uvb bulb in it. Both are two feet long-
Unfortunately fitting all 3 of my lights up on the wire rack in the position I want isn’t really achievable. The wire wack is 16” in depth, and my heat fixture is 8.5 in diameter. The wire rack sits 4 5/8” above the top of the cage, and im hoping to have the basking branch be 8.5-9 inches from the wire rack! I have 40w-100w incandescent bulbs as well as a temperature gun, analog thermometers as well as some digital hygrometer and thermoter. Also have two probed sensors on the way from amazon! Just have to take it slow since I have a concussion- got in a car accident coming home from Petco after getting an analog hygrometer. Just my luck haha!

geez ok well your on the right track with everything. No more going to petco lol I hope you feel better soon.
You could put the dual t5 with daylight bulbs on the cage directly in the front position. THen on the rack in the middle have the UVB t5 and the back corner the heat fixture. This should give you the space you need on the rack for the UVB and heat fixture at least.

Basking branch is setup and the Schefflera is hanging! Just wondering where I should put the two Wandering Jew plants I have.

I was thinking about putting them on the upper left side, away from the heat lamp and partially out of the UVB fixture

Your basking level is really close to the top.... You might wanna drop that down a bit. If the shelf that the UVB is on is 4 inches up you need a full 5-6 inch drop below the screen. This accounts for where their bask rises into the higher UVI levels. It will be an approximate 3 UVI level.

I would keep any mounted plants farther away from the heat lamp corner. They do not tend to like that much heat and will die off.

Thank you! My basking branch is ~9 inches from the wire shelving where my uvb fixture is, but i can always attatch it from the underside of the branches as well! The heat fixture will be in the back right so im straying away from putting plants there, unless of course I find one that can tolerate that much heat!

To be exact the branch is 4.5 inches from the top of the cage and the wire shelving is 4 & 5/8ths inches from the top of the cage!

Just keep in mind full grown they stand a 4-5 inches off the branch... If it is a Veiled then the casque stands an inch higher... This is where I am a little concerned because it is so close that they will be literally on the ceiling panel. So if you drop it another inch or two even where they stand will still be in a 3 UVI range.

I actually have a pothos under my heat light around 10 /12 inches down for over 8 weeks and doing fine top back right

Thanks a bunch!! I will drop it another inch, and when I get one I will continue to lower it as they grow. I cant beleive I didnt think about their height!

But remember this is for a 9-10 inch total distance from the bottom of the T5 to the top of the basking branch. This gives a 3 ish uvi with a 5.0 or 6% bulb. If you want more distance at the top of the cage you could do a 10.0 or 12% bulb with a 12 inch total distance to the branch and this would be a 3ish uvi as well.
