PROLAPSE??? help!!

hi everyone
I have noticed over the last few days that my kyro (veiled chameleon) has had something sticking out his rear end I thought that yet again he had sperm plugs but am realising now that this is not the case it looks like a prolapse its red!
I have tried bathing him in warm water but this does not seem to have helped he is also refusing to eat
I noticed tonight that he is starting a shed as well I am going to contact a vet tomorrow morning and see what they can do but they are not reptile vets but I am hoping they can help him and advice me better.
is there anything else I can do for him tonight am real worried about him!

Buy some Ky Jelly and put that on the affected area until you can get to the vet.

But you need to find a reptile vet who can put the prolapse back in, and potentially a stitch into the vent to hold the prolapse in.

You are supposed to bathe him in cold water and not warm. You are trying to contract it, not expand it!

If it's been out awhile the chance of it going back in will be slim. If it's his hemipenis it will most likely have to be amputated. I would recommend finding a good reptile vet. Where do you live? Someone here might can recommend one.

This is how I handle prolapse: Soak in cold water with as much sugar dissolved in the water as you can get. Soak 5 minutes and take out for 5 minutes and apply KY Jelly, then soak 5 more minutes and then apply KY. Continue to do this until either he pulls it back in or you get him to the vet. If he doesn't pull it back in on his own he will probably need it amputated. You can try to help him get it back in after you have soaked it for awhile and the vet will try to get it back in. If it's been out for awhile the chances of him or the vet getting it back in are slim and he'll probably need it amputated. They do just fine after the amputation.

Try a little bit of the plainest hydrocortisone you can find (no pain relief, no extra bells and whistles - plain, generic brand 1% hydrocortisone) and dab a little bit on. Worked like a dream for a snake prolapse I had to deal with, may work for your cham too.

If it doesn't, then rinse it off, keep it clean, and to the vet ASAP!
