Proximity stress

I have 2 panthers in screen cages 1 foot apart. The sides are coverd and blocked so they can't see each other. Do you think they can sense each other? When I first got the younger one it seemed the older one knew something was up, but now they don"t seem to notice at least when I'm in the room.
I'd like to set up a video cam to see what they do while I'm not around.

Well I've been told that Chams are deaf so they probably can't hear each other.

that is fine. they shouldnt have a problem as long as they cant see eachother.
