Can you post a pic of it, or do you have the botanical name?

then it is in the same family as the common 'Wandering Jew' (Tradescantia spp.).
The Bluebeast plant list says that it is safe to use, but the University of California-Davis website says that it comes with a risk of dermatitis (irritation to the eyes/skin). However Ficus and Pothos both carry this same warning and are used successfully by cham keepers.
I tend to think it's probably okay to use, but since I have no experience with it, I can't say for certain.
Your safest bet would probably be to find someone who has actually used it successfully (perhaps email TylerStewart at Bluebeast to find out where he sourced his plant list from).
