Pygmy is laying!!!

Hello everyone. I just came back from Home Depot with my dad and when i checked my little female bearded pygmy..i saw she was digging a hole. Im really happy that's she is finally laying. I will dig the eggs up just for the sake of crickets not getting to them. Im really happy.

I would not take them out, crickets wont get to them.

Crickets i think will get to them because those little idiots love to dig in the soil. I have talked to people previously and they say they have more success with taking them out. I understand why you're telling me not to but i will. So they are more safer. Sorry im not listening to you

I guess I don't know either but my girl laid 3 eggs & I took them out. Congrats on your eggs. At least you will know when yours were laid I have no idea.

Congrats Stefan on the eggs
i had 1.3 of them and didnt see them lay any eggs then one day i saw one diggin so after she was done i dug them up and placed them in the incubator this was march 3. ive had the pygs in the viv sence the pomona show in jan so im hopin theres more eggs laid i didnt see happen, ive kinda looked around before this last clutch but to really look around would disturb things to much so im hopin that there is more in there and they will hatch out on there own in the viv.. the 4 i took out of the viv all look great bout the size of a tictac almost a month in already and im lookin forward to them hatchin out, and i keep my eye out for anylil ones that maybe hatchin out in the viv.. cant wait i love my lil pygs:D

I just know that Brad keeps his eggs in the enclosure and then lets them hatch out there. Thats what I plan on doing, I dont want to dig up a nicely planted viv to get out the eggs.

i agree lizardlover like i said ive looked around alittle in there but to relly look would disrupt things to much but i saw where one the females had laid so i got them just cause i saw where they were, theres gotta be more laid in there that i will wait on

Thats what i will probably do. Take the ones out that i see and if she lays more i will keep them in to test each option out.

Thank you for everyone how said congrats:)

Well after a long couple hours in which i took a nap 2 times because my head hurts, the eggs are safe and sound. I checked up on her and she was done. She had covered them up and all. So i took her and the male out along with all the branches and dug up the eggs. There were 4 white eggs that were laid. I dug them up and moved them into a deli cup with vermiculite and i didnt toss or flip them around(thank god). Here are some pics from the whole pygmy laying experience. MIGHT I ALSO ADD, that when they went back into the enclosure together, the male tried to breed with her again but of course, she didnt let him.

1st picture-Can you see her digging?
2nd picture-The eggs before i took them in the deli cup
3rd picture-The 4 eggs in the deli cup
4th and 5th picture-The male and female after the whole process:)

Great pics! I have thought about pygs too, but I don't know how to set up an aquarium and am pretty busy with my veileds and carpets. Maybe some day after a lot of research.
