Question about frame support

So I'm building a frame inside my cage to support plants, vines, and horizontal branches and I was wondering if bamboo can be used. The one that is sold at home depot/lowes for gardening. The 4 main vertical poles are some metal rods covered in plastic that also are used for gardening but I was planning on using bamboo stakes. Will this be ok? I already cut them since I cant sleep but was wondering if it'll rot quick or anything since I'll be using a mistking. He'll be in this cage for only about 6-8 months then move to an adult enclosure.
TIA!

I have heard that bamboo poles don't provide a good grip for chameleons too slippery. I know live bamboo is poisonous.

The bamboo is not for climbing just for support but I could see how a little guy can use it for climbing. Would wrapping it on jute twine be ok? The bamboo is slippery but completely dry. I cut pieces and some parts are even hollow. I was gonna use a bamboo mat to cover one or two sides of the screen to help me avoid water splashing everywhere too but that could go outside I guess

I'm sorry, that's all I know about bamboo and that's not first hand knowledge maybe someone else can tell you more.

About 6 years ago, I've successfully used the bamboo to build scaffolding for my glass enclosures to hang branches and pots. My chams had very difficult times climbing up the bamboo stakes. I ended up covering the bamboo stakes with aquarium silicon and then covered the siliconed bamboo stakes with coconut fibers. That worked out very well for my chams.

That's what I was thinking on doing too but wasn't totally sure lol thank you! I happened to have ordered some aquarium silicone because I was gonna make some "vines" with coconut fiber and nylon rope. I guess it'll be this weekend project so I cover the bamboo since I already cut it all. Thanks again
