Question about member's signatures

I’m new to this board; I just joined yesterday. Would somebody please explain the #.#.# (species) lists that some members have in their signatures, such as this one:

2.2.26 Eggs - Veiled Chameleons
0.2.0 - Crested Geckos
0.0.2 - Micro Geckos
1.0.0 - Tangerine Phase Honduran Milk Snake
0.1.0 - Snow Corn Snake
0.0.1 - Albino Pacman Frog

I assume that they represent lists of what species they own, but what do the three numbers represent?

I’ve noticed that some members include reptile species other than chameleons, and some even list small mammals. However, nobody mentions their dogs and/or cats. What’s up with that? Is there a size limit? Can I list 0.1.0 Wife, redhead, H. sapiens?
