i just bought a couple of small ficus trees for my future veiled and need some info. should i replace the soil they came with? i also noted that someone on here said to put rocks over the soil? i have some assumptions but why? also how long can i keep the ficus in their pots? they are about two feet tall each, sorry for no pictures-working on that.
thanks guys/gals

The rocks are to prevent the accidental ingestion of the soil,. The rocks need to be big enough so that They will not be eaten themselves.

A ficus can remain in its pot as long as there is room for the roots to grow. You should not have to move up very often. I would say if you potted your ficus one pot size up it would last a long time (sorry dont know exactly) before it would need to be re potted. The plant can die if its root system is choked off or over crowded.

sweet thanks, thats what i thought as far as the rocks go. and for the ficus's i guess i will play with them this month and see how they do before anything else goes in.
