Question on Crossing...

I have been trying to find info on this and have come up with nothing. I was wondering what you would get if you crossed a red bar ambilobe panther with a blue bar ambilobe? I had one person tell me purple bar ambilobes and another tell me the red is a recessive and all babies would be blue carrying the red gene. If anyone has input on this I would much appreciate the knowledge!

i asked this same question a few months back and from what I read you'd get a mixture of both in the clutch

Thanks for the link. So if I read it right they would through both...? The blue being the dominant gene though...?

this is plain genetics, based on what was previously said red would be recessive or rr and blue bar would be dominant RR, so youd make a punnet square to find the odds

R R
r Rr Rr
r Rr Rr

so all would be blue bar but if the blue bar was heterozygous and carried the red bar trait and was Rr already then it would be....

R r
r Rr rr
r Rr rr
so it would be a 50-50 split on that, hope this answers your question, also I don't know if that trait is incompletely dominant though

Thank you!! I see then that the genetics would be similar to the knowledge I have in other animals I raise with the recessive colors and such. That's all I needed to know for sure. Thanks again...
