Question regarding Repashy Calcium Plus

I bought a bottle of Repashy Calcium Plus thinking that I could use it everyday as a duster. I have since learned that the use of this product in that way is not recommended for chams. I am now dusting everyday w/ ReptiCal w/out D3. I am dusting my feeders w/ the Repashy every two weeks as a vitamin and D3 supplement. Any thought on whether this is okay? Should I ditch the Repashy and by ReptiCal w/ D3 and a separate vitamin supplement and use those twice a month instead? Any thoughts would be helpful. Thank you.

I use repashy calcium plus daily on my feeders. That's the only thing I use and bug burger to gutload.

I too use Repashy's Calcium Plus at every feeding, and have done so for almost 2 years now without any ill-effects to my panther chameleon. The D3 content in the product is made so that it is safe to use daily. If you are going to dust D3 bi-weekly then I suggest you get the Rep-Cal with D3. Comparing the two brands the Repashy has a minimum D3 content of 20,000 IU/Kg, while the Rep-Cal D3 has 400,000 IU/Kg. That's a pretty significant difference, which is probably why the Calcium Plus can be used daily without overdosing on D3. I'm sure other members on here can chime in with more details, but you will be fine with just the calcium plus alone. As mentioned above, add a good gutload such as bug burger, bug buffet, cricket crack, dinofuel, etc. and you're golden!

For panthers and veileds Rapshy calcium plus can be used for every or almost every feeding without any ill effects reported by the community. However there is some concern about the D3 level for montane species and speculation that it could have contributed to gular edema especially in montanes. For my montanes I use it once weekly instead.

What species? Some can tolerate a lot of vitamins, but others like most if not all montane species won't. I looked at the D3 content on the Repashy LoD and found it about as high as something like ReptiCal with D3.

I have a question about Calcium dusting....... I dust my crickets with CA +D3 for my Trioceros Sternfeldi to 'free range' but the crickets clean off the calcium and by the time they get eaten there really isn't anything left on them. How much should my chameleons have and how should I make sure they get enough?
