Questions about new veiled!

I brought home my new veiled a couple days ago. He is about 3.5-4 months old. I was wondering how active they should be at this age? He has barely moved since I've had him and if he is planning to move he looks like he's working up to it for an hour. He basks most of the day and has only hunted once and ate 2 mealworms from my hand. Also he has been very dark green or brownish since he's been here. His basking temp is 85ish and elsewhere is around 70. Does he just need more time to settle in? Here is a pic of his color. How much should he be eating also...thanks!

Hes cute.
If you just got him, you have to give him time to settle in, it can take a few weeks for this to happen.

I would not feed a lot of mealworms, stick with crickets or roaches..
Though a varied diet of bugs is best for them.


If that truly is hte basking spot temp, then thats good,

I would fill this out, and post photos of your set up, just to make sure everyhting is correct.

they love to be able to hide.
