Quick Question

I have about a 5 month old Panther and every morning he has just recently started trying to eat the hibiscus rose near the base, not the leaves or the flowers, the hard stalks near the base of the plant. I was wondering should I offer him certain other plants (currently there are the hibiscus rose, schefflera arbicola, ficus elastica, and pachira aquatica) or is this a sign of some other sort of deficiency?

This is not a sign of deficiency. Probably more curiosity than anything else.

Usually it is veileds that eat more vegetation, but the occassional panther will sometimes try things out.

If you want, you can try various vegatables and see what he does. If he is eating vegetation though, you need to be more careful of the flora you put in the cage.

Good luck,
Matthew
