My panther is doing some odd stuff the past couple of days. He keeps climbing onto the ceiling of his cage where his heat light is.

His basking spot is about 85/86 degrees constant. Im not sure if hes cold or what...could it be perhaps because the house has been a bit cooler lately? We have been having some crazy thunderstorms here in Nor Cal this past week.

Last thing I want is for his belly to get burned. ( Btw the light is ontop of his mesh cage. Not inside so he can't brush up against the bulb. )

Let me know what you guys think.

When my chameleon was smaller and could hang easily from the top, he would do the same thing. I was always afraid he would get burned also. I don't think he is trying to get warmer. However, If you think that, you could always move your basking branch closer. If he still continues to do it, I would move the basking light up off the screen. Clamp it to the side, raise it up and then move the branch up and check the temp.

My veieled does it all the time. as long as he isnt falling, its nothing to be cncerend about. they are just 'hangin' out! :p
