I have a 7 month old veiled, I think that is how old he is. He has had mouth rot for awhile and he is on meds for it. However I dont think they are working, My question is how do I safely clean his mouth or do I have to take him to a vet?

Well, I would call the vet and either speak on the phone about it or schedule a follow up visit.
The vet should be good about calling you back to discuss this.

I know I asked you before if your vet cleaned out the areas where the mouth rot is and whether he did a culture and sensativity test and you said he didn't....I should have posted again after that to say that usually if its not cleaned out properly it won't likely go away. If you don't have a test done you won't know if the antibiotic is the right one to kill the bacteria involved.

The most common bacteria involved with mouth rot is pseudomonas aeruginosa (sp?) and its not an easy one to get rid of.

Sorry that I didn't get back to your post to tell you that. :(

I am planning on taking him back to the vet next week hopefully, only this time i am going to request a test be done. He has had it for awhile.. Another adventure in Chameleon parenting :). Thank you for your help.
