So, I just started to convert my garage to the cham room. It will have 10-15 outlets, a generator hook up and generator, mist king set up, window heating and air unit, and humidifier. I am so pumped about it, but man it is killer work.

Wow. That's lots of work but I am sure it will be fun when you are all dialed in. Impressive...

WOW where i come from i have only ever seen this much effort and expence put into Marine fish, well done and keep going  :) :D

wow, that is sounds so sick! to bad i just have the corner of my bedroom otherwise the possibilities would be endless.

Looks good, neat idea. Now if I could get all my hubby's crap out of out garage there would be room for a rain forest and my yukon.:D

Thanks guys!! Really appreciate it. Now if I can finish this thing in the next month or so.....

@Laurie- I hear you! We're having to get a shed to put stuff like the lawn mower and tools in. I try and try not to clutter things in the garage. We've ended up hanging on to so much crap we don't need. We ended up donating some old furniture and things to Salvation Army. Luckily we've never used it for a car. I've really needed to do this because it's just not safe to have all these plugs and cages around a baby that will be walking soon.

You"ll have to keep us updated when you get your chams in there! It looks like its gonna turn out really nice. Your chams are super lucky!! I wish I could do something like this but I live in michigan and it is only nice out for about 5 months out of the year. So unless it was heated my chams would freeze as soon as October hit :(!

^^Yeah, it's not to great weather wise here either. It's either super super hot or super super cold. I had to insulate all the outer walls of the garage and then insulate the attic (Not fun!). Then we have to run a duct to the garage as well as a commercial heating and air window unit to make sure it keeps constant temperatures.

That is awesome, I bet its going to be a cool set up when you are done. Work well worth it! Can’t wait to see when your finished.

Niiice Kevin. Your alot farther along than I thought you'd be at this point. Sometimes those renovations/add ons end up being twice the work of new construction projects. I was wondersing if you were going to go window unit or try and add on to the central ac and heat.

Great thing is you can just paint or stain that garage floor. No worries about cages overflowing onto carpet or stains, perfect for a cham room.

Cant wait to see the finished project. :D

Hey thanks all! I'll try and update this thread with pictures as it progresses. I still need to finish off the dry wall, and have the electricians out to do all the wiring. If it was just 1 to 4 chams that we had, I wouldn't be doing this. When you start getting a little carried away like we have, it's tough to keep everything the way the animals should be kept. I've had to deal with respiratory infections before and things like this. I believe it's because they need a steady habitat that I hope this will provide.

It is heartwarming for someone else to care about their chams the way I do. And thinking ahead for the baby and how the cham equipment could impact the baby, show a good solid control of what you are doing. Great job.

Hello all, been awhile since I've been on. Hope everyone is doing well. :) Just finished the room and wanted to post a few updated pics.
