Does anybody know what a (Dead Leaf Chameleon) Rampholeon kerstenii looks like? They have them listed for sale at east bay vivarium. But I don't know what kind of cham this is specifically. If you got a pic please post. Thanks.

R.kersteni

Hello,

Here is a pic of a male r.kersteni. R.kersteni almost never come into the country and what they probably have is R.brevicaudatus. It is very common for the exporters to use R.kersteni on the export documents when they are actually r.brevicaudatus or r.temporalis. This guy came from our last shipment from tanzania and probably the only r.kersteni to come in for a few years.

Marc,

I guarantee the R. kerstenii that EBV is advertising are actually brevs. When i purchased my brevs from them, they were incorrectly labeled as R. kerstenii. The guy told me that they were going to change the label to R. brevacauda, but i guess they never got around to it. :p He told me that they virtually never get shipments of kerstenii in and that it was an error on their part.

Thanks for the heads up.

I'm most likely not going to get my pygmies until I move into my new house. The area that I live at right now is way too hard to keep the temps low. The past couple of days my room is about 92*F. I've been misting my veiled about 6 times a day because the water evaporates like crazy. I could imagine trying to keep cool temps for the leaf chams. Global warming is really kicking my butt right now. I know for sure that when I move back to the bay area, I'll be able to keep cooler temps much easier.
