Red eye tree frog encloser

Glass, with screen top. You will need to keep humidity at >70% so chances are you will cover some area w/platic or wax paper. It's good to allow 10g/frog when adults. I have kept a pair in 12x12x18 exoterra well but they were both female and compatiable house mates. Good luck.

Are red eyed different from green tree frogs in their need for that high of a humidity level? My longest living green tree frog (my very last one) managed to live for I think 5 years and I never had anything to measure the humidity level then.

Please post pics when you get it/them, I love frogs. :)
Especially the red eye species with the bright blue legs (costa rica sp?)
Wish we could get those and dart frogs, they are amazingly colorful critters. :)

you mean like this?:D

Best I can offer is, get a hygrometer.

I hand mist, offer pools, and run a ReptiFogger.
I keep them at ambient room temp (68-78F).
When it starts to get too hot in the summer, the air goes on at 82F.

Pretty much same as for my blue dumpies.

I think life spans run 15-20y, if kept well.:)

Be sure to keep it really clean. Use nonclorinated, good, water

no life span for red eyes is a lot less then dumpies, only 3 - 5 years.

*drools* Yes! Thats the one! Is that guy yours? Now theres a gorgeous Frog! :)
Yeppers -- got two very lovely ladies.:D

Thanks for the correction. You are right that redeyes have a lot shorter life span -- something to consider when purchasing because depending on where you purchase, they can get kinda pricey. But yes they are gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!:) Will be three years in May.

No problem :) I love mine too.
Back to the enclosure Q, 10 gallons per frog.
Eco Earth or other cocoa fiber substrate.
Live plants are best, you can use the same ones used for chameleons
As for keeping up the humidity, spraying twice, once in the morning and once at night.

Done from a camera phones but not to shabby.
The first one is the green one Lucifer and the second is the darker one Ameir.
