Repti tuff light bulb?

Hello so rescently i had my heat lamp bulb explode on me after i accidently sprayed some water on it while misting my enclosure.. This is the second time its happend nd those bulbs aint cheap.. Lol so i rescently purchased a repti tuff bulb by zoo med 90 watt 2 be exact for my xl zoo med enclosure.. Its suppose tonbe water proof but was wondering if this bulb would provide sufficient heat for my chamm? Anyone have experience with these bulbs?

Yea are those the ones for "splashing" turtle tanks? 90watts is too much, a regular 60watt house bulb will do the job since it's only for heating

Yes the ones for splashing.. Lol i got the big one because i can dimm my light its never on full power unless temperatures drop..

Ok as long as you can dim it. I used to use zoo meds day heat bulb, they didn't last long and yes they do add up, then I joined these forums and found out the since they're only for heating a regular house bulb can do the same for a lot less.

What about using an exterior porch halogen floodlight instead? They are much sturdier than specialty bulbs and less expensive. Look for them at hardware stores. All this bulb needs to do is provide heat and general illumination.
