ReptiCarpet

Ever since I have gotten my chameleon cage, I have used a repticarpet. The only downside of it is that it's really wet after multiple mistings. Should I just remove it and have nothing at the bottom of the cage at all, or what? I'd love to hear your guys' suggestions and input!

No substrate, no repticarpet. Chams are arboreal, meaning they live mostly up in the trees. The repticarpet or substrate does very little for them. It's mostly for US, the humans, as it "looks" better to our eyes. The fact of the matter is that unless properly done and maintained, substrate can be dangerous to your Cham. Trapped moisture and water can elevate/keep humidity not to mention if it never dries out can fester and grow a ton of bad stuff you don't want in there with your Cham.

Here's a picture of my terrarium, in the "Sunset Mode" for my Cham.

I have only a T-Rex skull and a few pieces of foam left over from my floating wall build for décor on the floor. This makes it very easy to clean the bottom, catch any stray feeders and remove any moisture! (y)

I use the carpet with my iguana - it was messy and difficult to clean, so I just replace it when needed.

The bottom of Ophelia's enclosure is bare (with the exception of the laybin and a bromeliad. I actually drilled holes in the bottom of my reptibreeze, put it on a small stand and have a drainage pan under to catch the runoff from the Monsoon.
