Roach containment DONT!

DO NOT ever use vegetable oil as your containment layer around the top of your "climbing" roach bins. This stuff dries as hard as a rock thus letting every roach able to make it up that far literally a helping hand to climb all the way out. Watched a hisser fall into a beardie bin below its tote. I was like NO WAY. Quickly examined the bin to find out this had happened. Then checked the rest of the totes to find out it has happened in all of them also.

I put that clear shipping tap on the walls on my tubs and mine don't get out.

I’ve found that they get out of any open top. I switched to the plastic bucket with a locking lid that tidy cat comes in and have had no issues since. Make sure to drill small ventilation holes.

i learned not to keep them, but thanks for the heads up. I also use tape on pinhead cricket bins those things can climb anything .

Sounds like a bad experiece. I'm about to start breeding my feeders, and sure am glad you mentioned this.
