I have an extra snake rack sitting around and was wondering could I house some dubia in it? I think the tubs are 32qt (23x17x6) they are only 6 inches high I think that may be a problem.

How many roaches do you think I could keep in each tub? Do you think they would be able to get out?

You could keep a lot in that space.... but the limit of 6" is kinda lame. They won't get out if the tank is covered. I wouldn't keep adult males in a cage that short... they might try and "fly" out (if uncovered). But they can't fly like a bee or dragon fly... they just flap their wings a bunch and don't get far.

a rubbermaid or sterilite plastic bin always works well too.

the only reason I was going to do it is because the heats already there. Have a huge tub also thats just wasting away, ill try both and see which one works better.

Im not worried about roaches flying around, since ive never kept dubia I was worried more about numbers in a smaller space. If that makes any sense. I cant stand crickets, the smell is bad and if they scape they live and roam and chirp and chirp and chirp and you know...

B.dubia or any of the Blaberus or Eublaberus can't fly, only glide and they can only climb smooth surfaces so escape is unlikely unless there's something against the side they can climb. If you were worried about wings you could try Hemiblabera tenebricosa, it's native to the Florida Keys, is reasonably large and can't climb smooth surfaces. Surface area is more important than height so your cage sounds great.

Yes, they are very fast indeed.
Yes, they produce egg cases.
I'm of the opinion that even the most tropical of roaches is capable of infesting a heated residence to some degree.
