Roly polys

I use them like crazy in my tortoise enclosures, they're a great part of a clean up crew.

You can order them on line but they were expensive so I just took a stroll in a wooded area near one of my job sites and collected them.

Yes like tortdad said they're super expensive. Where I live A. Vulgare are super common, but online they're like 17$ for 15! I picked up about 50 in fifteen minutes in my garden! Check under rocks, that's where I find them.

Sweetie don't you have anymore giant canyons? They are all isopods, just have slightly different ways their physical body works. But they do the same thing XD if you need more giant canyons because of that weird thing that happened with you cleaner crew bin I can provide more right now and will give you a price cut?

@Andee hey I appreciate it, but I still have tons in all of my enclosures. I actually found the exact mite online, apparently they are harmless soil mites.(y) The roly polys just seemed cool lol I wanted to add some of those to my set up (as long as they will get along with my isopods). I thought they were slightly different, but I guess not lol.

As for collecting them in the wild, they are known to carry heavy metals and a lot of crap so I wanted to get clean CBs

Yeah you can switch out babies from wild bred adults. Just know that not too feed too much to your chameleons of those guys etc. They do have a tougher exo skeleton than isopods that are skirted like giant canyons and it can be just slightly harder to digest but that's like if they eat a couple huge meals in a week of just them. I am so glad you found out the mite wasn't harmful! So wonderful when that happens XD do you know the name of it at All? I'd like to know it for future.

Always slow down and read, don't scan posts.

I thought Andee said "Giant Crayons" and was making fun of you.... like here's some giant crayons and a helmet for the window licker
Lmao yes, often we forget things or read things wrong on the forum because of skimming. Sadly I think all of us have been guilty of that at one time or another

Ok that's good at least ^^ no worries then.... as far as rolly pollies they still have a lot of natural calcium. And depending on what age you want to feed it to you could get dwarf ones who are fast movers and super pretty colors to illicit strike responses or you could go bigger.

Some of the best cleaners would be dwarf species like whites etc. But remember you have to worry about them out competing you giant canyons in there.

Yeah, they're easier to hold ;)
