Round two...

My last mating session between the two ambanja panthers went crappy as the eggs turned out to be infertile.
But as it's friday and all i put the two lovebirds together again for their second time and i have observed two mating sessions tonight.
I'm going to let them stay together for 48 hours or untill she gets all dark and gaping.
Last time they only had one session before she freaked out :-S

(Note to self:)
This time she better leave me fertile eggs :)

I allready did my friend :)

Last time i showed them Cham porn from youtube, and 3 minutes after they where on top of eachother :)

A picture of the love birds (dinosaurs) :D

Dont you think this is a little too soon?? It's only been a month or so since she's been bred right?

Yeah, does seem a bit soon mate, if you want her to be in the best condition?
How has she been feeding recently?

She gained her apetite after laying the clutch and has been eating more now than ever before. So she fattened up and i give calsium for every feeder she eats. She was now ready to try again and was more than happy to give some sweet luvin tonight.

She shed for a week ago, and then she was gaping and showing her bad moode when i had my male out for a walk in the trees. But now she showed no signs of anger, only nice peatchy colour that shows me she is ready to mate again.
So....
She has been eating and drinking good, taken her calsium and got alot of rest, so i would say she is good to go another round :)

That's good. Sounds ok then, but I think if she eats too much she will have a large clutch, and this could put a strain on her?
I've never bred Chams so am maybe too cautious here......

Normaly she should stop eating around 10 days before she lays the clutch.

They are gravid around 30-37 days.

But my experience with her is that she is eating less then normal when she is gravid, so i don't think it's a bad idea that she has alot of reserves to use from before the gravidity is kicking in.

She must be enjoying herself more this time then..........Good luck with round 2 :D

I would have still waited a couple months longer, she still could be recovering from the egg laying but good luck with round 2 :) Hope you have some healthy eggs this time!

Ok thanks for your advice. I'll let her rest a little longer next time :)

Yesterday evening my female ambanja laid her eggs.
45 days after mating. She laid 21 eggs this time, and i'm both nervous for them to shrink like the clutch sha laid before and can't wait to get home from work to see if the eggs are ok. When i left for work this morning i think they had begun to shrink.

How soon can i see a result if i decide to candle them? What are we looking for when we candle the eggs and how is the professional way to do it?
