Rubbing head and crest

Hi
I don't write very often (like only when I have a problem - sorry) but I read your posts regularly and enjoy them very much - so much great info out there, thanks!

My Veiled Charlie has developed some odd behaviour and I was wonder if rubbing or scratching is a sign for concern.

Cage Type - free range. I have lights suspended in a grate from the ceiling over lots of house plants. Also has access to a window
Lighting - Reptisun 5.0 UVB light and 60w incandescent bulb for basking
Temperature - 85 for basking and 75 in the rest of the room 65 at night
Humidity - I am misting 2 x per day for 5-7 min each time. Humidity is around 75% in the plant area
Plants - Jade, pothos, ficus, fern, clover, norfolk island pine
Location - the entire setup is on a shelf that stretches the entire width of the room. His highest points are the top of the ficus which is about 7' and the top of the bookshelf (accessible by the pothos) which is about 9'. In the middle of it all is a window that has direct sunlight for 4 hours in the afternoon. This is Charlie's favourite place

Chameleon - Male Veiled 5 months old (?). I have had him for 3 months
Handling - I take him outside about once a week and leave him in a plant on the balcony for a couple of hours. Other wise I pretty much leave him alone.
Feeding - He gets 7-8 crickets / day plus 10 butter worms and 5 superworms a week. The crickets are gut loaded with a variety of veggies: carrots, romaine, sweet potato, zucchini, broccoli, corn, orange,
Supplements - Reptivite multivitamin w D3 2-3 / week
Watering - I mist him 2 x per day for 5-7 min and see him drinking usually one of those times
Fecal Description - Poo seems normal. Firm dark brown with white tail. No parasite testing

* Current Problem - When Charlie is showing dark colours, the top of his head and crest seem to be whiteish and when he is on the screen of the window (one of his fav. spots) he has started rubbing his head and crest on the screen ( he shed about a week and a half ago and has been having normal sheds usually every 3 or 4 weeks since I got him)

Photos on the way

I'll wait for the pics.
Just as a suggestion, don't gutload your crickets with broccoli.
It contains oxalate that can block your chameleon calcium absorption.

I'd say he is reaching his teen "years".
Possibly becoming sexually mature.
Their could be other problems associated with restlessness.

Is their a desirable habitat outside of his cage?
Can he see something he might want to crawl on?

He does stare out the window a lot. Maybe he wants to get outside...
