Sand in her eye

My female Cham has a bucket of sand in her set up in case she needs to lay eggs. I took her out yesterday to feed her and I give her water and liquid calcium with a syringe to make sure she stays hydrated and noticed a single grain of sand in her eye. It didn't seem to be bothering her, but I wouldn't like it. I dripped a few drops of plain water to see if I could wash it out, but that did nothing. Will she get it out on her own?

She should be able to get it out on her own but I would still pick up a bottle of saline solution and gently squirt it in her eye to help dislodge the sand. Also, some additional cage mistings can help with getting it out.

If you see her having problems with it and the saline doesn't get it out your next step might be the vet so they can safely remove it.

I hope so

I tried dripping water over it. She started rolling her eye inside the eye lid. Creepy looking..but I didn't want to make it worse if it went in order the lid and could scratch the eye. I hope she can get it out on her own. And I usually have the sand wetter but was gone for the weekend

I'm sure she will be fine. Just keep the misting up and she should be able to get it out. I like to use Saline as it is better for the eye than just water and you can squirt it so the force of the liquid should help flush out the sand.
