Well, I am not superstitious but I just posted the other day a thanks for the advice on using buffered saline to rinse out his right eye ( what I thought was a piece of skin after a particularly hard shed .) The swelling went down initially. So after 4 days of rinses and swelling gone I stopped.
Now full blown eye infection, have to force liquid antibiotics, anti-inflammatory meds. Plus I had to start force feeding and water as he has lost weight in the last week. Poor guy, he is a tough one (Even got some fluids injected) but I hope after tonight with first round of meds and a few CCs of water orally he will improve. His official condition is "guarded".

I am a very worried mom.:(

Hello All.
I am devastated....my poor boy passed away this morning. I am wracked with guilt--did I wait too late to take him to vet? Did vet visit stress him too much?? Did vet compromise his eye when it was rinsed out a week and a half ago? (No blood/bruises present prior and afterwards not just swollen but bruising present then he declined rapidly.) I know, I am looking for someone to blame because I am upset/pissed off/all the above.
I have been crying off and on all day. I just hope he didn't suffer, I tried to provide all his needs.

So sorry to hear that. He was beautiful and it looks like he was well cared for by the look of him. So hard to lose them.

So terribly sorry for your loss. The little horned guys really work their way into your heart.
It sounds like you did all you could for him. It is always a delicate balance between stressing them and treating them.
