Scared of Dubia??

I just got back from the Long Island Reptile Expo and I bought some feeders for half price of what I normally buy them at my local stores. As an added treat a local vendor that I normally do business with gave me a couple of male dubia roaches free as a sample meal but when I got home and placed them in the cage, I noticed that one was dead but the other was ok and moving around nicely.

At first my vieled, which is an over two year old male, just looked at him but never really approached or lean into like he does with the hornworms and crickets. As the roach got closer I noticed that he started to move away somewhat rapidly and now is always on the opposite side of the cage away from the roach. He is his usual colors, he isn't dark or showing overt signs of distress as far as I can tell but still doesn't really show any interest in the roach..

Im wondering if he is scared of it since I have never fed him one before and how this might affect his health in the long run or do I just leave it in there and hope that he gets hungry enough to everntually eat it?
