Senegal Chameleon

Chameleon Enthusiast
Here we go with these post. I am smitten with Senegal Chameleon. Really thinking of buying one in the future. Maybe dedicate a pair.

Why hasn’t these chameleon took off with popularity?

I LOVE them!!! I think they’re gorgeous, and have been fascinated by them! I’ve been pondering getting one or two in a couple of years, so I’m definitely interested in this post, and might gently “push” (read: lovingly encourage, semi-strongly) you to get some!

They are usually just one plain colour…greenish.
They have no unusual (for chameleons) casques, horns, etc.
There are very few if not no people who have had success breeding/hatching/raising them.

Personally, I like them in spite of all of that.
Their facial features remind me of Panther chameleon. I love their yellow and orange hues. I’m not sure that their stress color signals or that female receptive color?

There’s a bit of description and photos of a receptive female mating with a male and then with her dotted gravid pattern in the one article I cited.

I think Kristina Francis wrote it.

I did write one article in the chameleon news. And one for the Chameleon Information Network…and a few more other minor articles over the years though.

Two of my chameleons played a part in the original study of CANV in chameleons as well.

I’ve played very minor parts in a few other things involving chameleons and other reptiles over the years too.
