Settling in.

I have just collected a beautiful male Panther from a private collector. He's tame however he's reluctant to feed at the moment and he's struggling to acclimatise to his new viv.
I have pull down blinds fitted to the outside of the vivarium that control photo periods during summer and was wondering whether to draw them during the day to give him some privacy.
He's kept in the conservatory that's not constantly overlooked.
Can any other members offer some tips? I also think he's close to shedding which maybe another reason he's off his food. He is drinking however.

Regards. Stewart.

Just give the guy a while. It often takes them a few days to a week or so to settle in. He will start eating again as soon as he is ready. I would just do things the way you always plan to do them so when he settles in he won't face more changes.

I often have the same problem with new creatures too.. I just pretend like they are eating and continue my normal routine as far as their matainance. Its the constant change that weirds them out.

Many thanks for the replies.

I have left a locust in with him this morning and I'll check on his progress when I'm home from work later today.
