She never layed eggs

I used to have a female veiled (r.i.p. Lily) she passed away in August. I've been reading on here a lot now and have learned so much for my new little boy . I noticed something though... Everyone is saying that even though they don't mate they will lay eggs. I had her for 2 1/2 years and I cleaned her cage frequently and I never saw any eggs... I think I remember her digging at one point, but she never layed anything. Is this possible? Could egg bound been the cause of death?

thats very possible thats what did it, did she dig a few months before passing? also did you check the soil? she may have laid and you never even knew it. she may have laid several times perhaps who knows?

Usually is. Very common if you don't see the signs, digging is one of them, and they don't get rid of the eggs, they will die. Some people have found a way for females not to lay eggs, but it requires lowering the temps and not giving ALOT of food. But if you took care of her like your pet, you probably kept her nice and warm and fat. Sorry to hear that. Good luck with your new boy.

I had moss with her cage. I cleaned it out and never ever saw any eggs, I would've flipped out lol I didn't know. I was never part of a forum or anything and the guy I thought knew what he was talking about, obviously doesnt b/c he has a waterfall in his glass reptarium for his 2 jacksons!
