Shedding and growth questions

I'm posting this because on November 2nd, Chandler my panther chameleon shed for the first time since I got him and he is showing signs of getting ready to shed again right now and even appears to have started to shed. I unfortunately don't have any pictures of him from today. I don't know his exact age, but size wise and colour wise I'd place his age at around the 5 month point. I got him from a petsmart and other than being kept in too small of a cage, he was well cared for. The pet store said he had been there for a few months, and placed him at around 8 months.

Now having previous experience with chameleons, I find it quite odd that given his age, he would be getting ready to shed again already considering he shed just two weeks ago.

Im wondering if this could be due to being in a larger cage now, one almost big enough for an adult male panther chameleon, that it has caused him to basically start to catch up on his growth rather rapidly. That being said, I'm wondering if I should change the supplement schedule slightly to ensure he does not develop MBD. He also currently has a huge appetite, he pounds down 12-15 four week old gut loaded crickets a day with ease.

So in short, is it possible he had stunted growth due to the size of cage he was in, and if that is the case, which supplement should I increase in frequency to ensure he stays healthy?

I am not an veteran owner, but have had good luck with my Panther male for the last 14 months. From my experience the shed within two weeks is normal at his age. I assume you gutload your bugs and dust them appropriately with calcium most days without D3 and calcium with D3 and a multi vitamin twice a month.

No special schedule is required beyond that of a healthy juvenile. Shedding is a good thing. Sounds like you have already improved his situation.
There is an unverified theory that they grow to the size cage they are in. In the wild they may limit their size to fit their territory.
Sorry, I don't have any proof to back this up. Maybe someone else does.

As far as I know, there is no vitamin/calcium schedule to do for this as @JacksJill said. Be careful for stuck shed though, and keep him very hydrated!

I think I remember this topic coming up awhile back and the consensus was they will grow regardless of the size of the cage. I remember a very large Veild being raised in a very small fish tank. I remember the keeper catching alot of flack for the inadequate set up, but remarkably the Veild outgrew the tank.
