Shedding Problem

Hey Guys,

My 3 year old Male Maroansetra is having a shedding problem. He has this one patch near his back left leg that won't come off, and I don't want to pull it off. It is attached to a harder skin which is greyish in colour and about the size of a penny.


I haven't tried anything yet except excessive water soaking, I have heard about using maybe vaseline or polysporin? Is there anyone who can vouge for this? I really don't want to have to go to the vet for something so petty. I will if I absolutely have to but otherwise I prefer to solve this on my own. He is watered down well, and not dehydrated.

Any suggestions?

I have heard that "spotty" shedding like what you are experiencing is from not enough Vit A (please correct me if im wrong)

I've never heard of a 3 yr old Panther shedding. Could u share with us some close-up pix of this greyish area on your guy?

Someone on the forum told me to pop open a vit e capsule, rub it on your hands and pick up your cham and stroke him, getting some of that e on his skin. I have the capsules but haven't tried it yet. I will be waiting for some answers tonight.

i have heard if you put a little vit a on a feeder once in a while, it might help the shedding process along.

Sorry for the long awaited reply, I have been out of town for a few so I haven't had the chance to take photos yet.

Give me a few more days, and I promise to have some photos of what it looks like.
