Shedding Veiled

Hey everyone, so I recently got a veiled cham and he's started to shed a bit. Is it normal for him to have his mouth open just because of discomfort? I'm just a worry wart and want to make sure there might not be anything else wrong with the little fella. Thanks!

I'm not an expert but my Panther does the same when he sheds I think it help get the old skin off but my guy is healthy boy so I wouldn't worry but others with more experience might be more help

Mine opens his mouth frequently when shedding. It seems to help the old skin crack and slough off.

Seems to be the norm. My girl has been shedding like crazy and does this too. She also rubs her head on her branches to get the skin off. It's really cute

Update, he's still not finished shedding, should I be concerned?

You might try the shedding aid found at pet stores. I'm new to chameleons, but in general most herps only take 3-4 days to shed, max.

Gave him a little shower! He loved the water and he seems much happier! Looks like that did the trick. But I'll look into the shedding aid as well!

I did! I turned the water on just lukewarm and and sprayed it so it was hitting the wall of the shower and bouncing off and i stuck a plant and some branches in there and he just cruised through, in and out of the water. He loved it!

PS how old is he now? Mine is 8 months old probably and almost 7 inches completely spread out....
