Shedding???

Mr Jingles

Please can you tell me a bit more about chameleons shedding? Nearly had a heart attack today when my daugter (12) called me to say she thinks Mr Jingles has exploded from the sun. (still said to me if that is the case, I'm a chameleon murderer lol) Oh my word he looked so yukky with loose skin all over him. He is about 9 or so weeks now, how often do they shed, is there any special treatment I have to give him. Hahaha I'm still so unsure about caring for him that I'll probably still drive you guys nuts here

Dont be alarmed!! often younger chams can pop a shed like no other. One minute they are in appearance perfectly normal, the next, it looks as if the chameleon is wearing a white smock. Just make sure during this time you periodically mist, and then let everything dry. The moister helps with any stubborn skin, but you dont want to mist to much or it will cause a shed stick, wich can be fairly uncomfortable for a cham. Expect a shed often with younger chams, as they get older, they tend to shed pieces at a time rather then the entire body. And of course, with older chams, they shed less often. AND NEVER PICK AT ANY SKIN LEFT OVER, let it fall off
