Shedding

So my girl is a hot mess, poor thing. This is the first real shed she's had since I've had her and she is so grumpy!

When I (manually) misted her earlier today, she gave me the cold shoulder treatment, turned her back, scooted away from me and put her nose in the corner. When she's had enough of me, the camera, the mister, etc. this is her way off telling me to go away. I enjoy learning her body language (and I always give her space when she asks).

I went to get her a treat (blue horned worm) but when I got back, she had put herself to bed early. I don't feed at bedtime and I almost put the worms back but I thought... just one. So I brought it close to her - she was definitely interested - and we had this sweet moment. She didn't want to get out of bed, but wanted the worm. She barely put her tongue out and I held super still and she softly took the worm. Never stopped watching me. Ate, closed her eyes and that was it.

I get that they're not dogs or cats, etc. but they can make connections and build trust Just wanted to share my moment

Put her in the shower if possible, i put mine on a plant and put him
In shower aim the shower head to the wall so she/he gets the back
Splash and leave them there 30minutes. The heat and humiditys will seriously help the shed come completely off.

My female veild runs away when she gets misted and does what yours does

I know some people do shower their chams but I think with veileds it really isn't necessary. Maybe some will like it but I think most will find it annoying especially when shedding.
Veileds don't need the humidity that most species do.

When you said she put herself to bed early what do you mean? Did she have her eyes closed when the light was on, because that is possibly a bad sign.....

That being said it was a nice story and she looks very good in the photos

Normally, Ophelia will drink from the mister when I do it manually, but when she's had enough she let's me know!
