SHEDDING

So I want to be ready for everything when I get my chameleon. every. single. detail.
And I was wondering about shedding. So can someone tell me what I need to do when a chameleon sheds? do I have to change the temperature or the humidity?

Depending on what kind of chameleon you get will determine your humidity range. When they are shedding, you don’t have to do or change a thing. Chameleons are dry shedders, so moistening them will actually cause the shed skin to stick to them and interfere with the natural process.

My chameleon has only shed once since I’ve had him (about a month). It took him about 6-8 hours to finish almost all of it and then a few more days to get little pieces off. He’s only five months old so it was pretty fast compared to adults.

I wouldn’t change much when they shed. I don’t do much except I don’t directly mist him when he’s shedding like normally.
