well it sounds like everything is what it should be, could you tell me a little more about the watering situation?

They need at least 30 minutes of misting. Depends on the age of the chameleon as to how much shedding it will do...obviously if they are growing they will do it more often.

While I'm reading this topic I have a question.

Victoria shed yesterday and rapidly all over her body from head to tail. Now she has a little bit on the tip of her tail and have read at another site to remove shedding. Why?

I mean I removed a few flakes that was left on her head but everything else came off her with ease on her own. Natually they would do this on their own and survive just fine so I'm a bit lost as to why they would need help. I'm sure the loose skin on her tail tip will fall off and not be a problem and I'm inclined to touch her tail anymore then what she uses it to wrap around a finger when she climbs onto my hand.

If there is a reason based on fact why anyone would need to assist them in a natural process I would like to hear it. But I think she is doing just fine on her own either crawling thru the leaves on her plants and such seems to do the trick and naturally.

When i kept jacksons it always took them forever to get rid of all the skin but my panthers get it done in a matter of hours. If they have pieces hanging from their toenails i will pull it off but i usually dont need to do anything

Hey there,

My 2 month old veiled just shedded a bit over one week ago and he has a piece of old skin on his face, right under his eye. I have not attempted to remove it as I thought as that in the wild they would have us there...

Should I let it go or try to remove it?

Thanks.

My cham doesn't shed on a regular basis. But I think he's shed twice in the last 2 months but it was about 3 weeks between sheds. Usually they have to be in a comfortable environment and eating right to shed.

As they age, they also start to shed less frequently.

my cham shed on his own.
I do not help him at all.. plus he gets really cranky during the shedding.
If i approach he'll hiss at me.
