sheflerra plant question

IV had my sheflerra plants for a few weeks now and the leaves are starting to curl and turn brown.I mist with warm water like I'm supposed to and water them ever few days.does anybody know y this would b happening?

Are they curling and turning brown only near the top of the plant and near your basking lamp? If so then the bulb is burning the leaves. I'd just let those leaves die off and the the rest of your plant should be ok.

Check the potting soil and pot drainage. If the root zone of the plant is constantly soggy it will rot the roots. If the brown leaves are right at the top near the lights they could be getting burned. prune the plant away from the heat.
 
I'm having the same problems, and i think its my lights as well, as my Schefflera is a bit too tall for my enclosure when i bought it. If I were to prune it back how would I go about that? I don't want to cut it wrong and have the plant lose the ability to grow back height later on if I were to want to use it again in a larger setup.
